Our chairman Bob Hayter has written this letter to welcome all members:

I extend a very warm welcome to buyers of shares in Wedmore Community Power Co-operative. As a member you will receive the significant benefits that come from being part of our venture.

We have now raised in excess of £550,000 though the initial Pioneer share offer and the main offer – a very significant milestone towards achieving our ambitious target of £950,000.

Reaching this milestone means completion of the project is now assured with the help of a loan from Community Power, our suppliers.

In the spirit of this community enterprise we want to attract even more investors, so the share offer will remain open until fully subscribed or the plant is commissioned. I encourage you to ask your friends and relatives if they would like to follow your example and invest in our co-operative.

In investing you have recognised not only the financial advantages but also the equally important environmental benefits. Solar power is the simplest and least obtrusive alternative to fossil fuels for those living in attractive countryside like ours.
